Accountable care organizations (ACOs)

ACOs are a way to improve care for people who use Medicare. They are health care providers that work together. Their goal is to make sure each provider you see is up-to-date on what is going on with your health. For instance, every health expert you see knows what tests you’ve had and conditions you’ve been treated for.

If your doctor or hospital is part of an ACO, you can still see health care providers outside that ACO.
