ABOUT THE STUDY
Help us better understand what makes a healthy pregnancy for all women.
One of our initial goals is to improve our knowledge of how average weight gain during pregnancy varies based on individual factors. Researchers will also look at other issues that can affect pregnancy outcomes. These may include medication use, vaccinations, pre-existing health conditions, symptoms, blood pressure, diagnoses during pregnancy, where the mother gives birth, healthcare provider, and size of the baby at birth.
Using Research Kit, a framework developed by Apple to streamline collection of scientific data, the study will be incorporated into the new WebMD Pregnancy App to collect information from pregnant women ages 18 and up across the U.S. Participation is voluntary.
WHY PARTICIPATE
Benefits for the Healthcare Professional Community
The study results are expected to give healthcare professionals insights into how physical and behavioral changes during pregnancy affect the health of expectant moms and babies. The hope is that this data will help update pregnancy recommendations to reflect the diversity of pregnant women.
