Heather Rupe, DO

Heather Rupe, DO, is a board-certified OB/GYN in private practice at The Womens Group of Franklin in Franklin, TN.  She also serves as the vice chief of staff at Williamson Medical Center.

When Rupe was in middle school, her family moved to Africa to become missionaries. It was while working at a makeshift clinic in the Congo that she recognized her passion for medicine and her willingness to dedicate her life to helping others.

Rupe attended medical school at Oklahoma State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, where she discovered her passion for OB/GYN.  She attended residency at North Eastern Ohio State Universities/Summa Health Systems in Akron. She was awarded the Louis M. Walker, M.D., Award upon graduation, recognizing her outstanding achievement in obstetrics and gynecology.

Rupe is the co-author of The Pregnancy Companion: A Faith-Filled Guide for Your Journey to Motherhood and The Baby Companion: A Faith-Filled Guide for Your Journey through Baby’s First Year. She is also a contributing author of The Everything Guide to Pregnancy Nutrition & Health.

Rupe is popular blogger, providing reassuring information with a touch of humor to pregnant women with an eye toward helping them to achieve both a healthy pregnancy and minimal anxiety. She writes for Graceformoms.com and MothersinMedicine.com as well as her own blog, drheatherrupe.com.

Rupe lives in Franklin, TN, as a dedicated wife and active mother of 2 boys. She enjoys literature, travels as often as her schedule will allow, completed her first marathon in 2014, and is an active Crossfitter.
