The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is an agency within the United States Public Health Service. It supports research to improve the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of health care. One of the agency's roles has been the development of clinical practice guidelines for conditions such as urinary incontinence, prostate enlargement, depression, back pain, and others.
This organization was formerly known as the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR).
