Binge drinking

Binge drinking is defined as drinking the amount needed to raise blood alcohol concentration high enough to be considered intoxicated.

A person is said to binge drink if:

  • A man drinks 4 or more drinks on a single occasion.
  • A women drinks 3 or more drinks on a single occasion.

Binge drinking increases the risk of alcohol-related problems, including accidents and injuries.
