Heavy use of alcohol is defined as more than two drinks per day for
men and more than one drink per day for women. One drink is
12fl oz of beer,
5fl oz of wine, or
1.5fl oz of hard
liquor.
Heavy use of alcohol increases the risk for many health
problems.
