Nutrients are substances in food that provide energy or are needed to support normal body functions. Nutrients are used to build and repair body tissues, including muscles, bones, and internal organs.

Nutrients include:

  • Carbohydrate.
  • Fat.
  • Protein.
  • Vitamins.
  • Minerals.
  • Water.
