Physical exam for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
During the physical exam for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
(ADHD), the health professional will:
Measure and weigh the child and compare these
figures with normal ranges for his or her age.
Check the child's
blood pressure.
Test hearing and vision.
Inspect the
child's face, arms, and legs for any birth defects.
Check the
child's nervous system for any movements that the child does not have control
over; coordination problems; or abnormal, quick automatic responses
(reflexes).
The health professional may perform a complete physical exam to
evaluate the child's general health.
