The following steps can help you prevent
psoriasis or improve your skin condition if you have
psoriasis:
Treat all infections promptly. Infections can
cause flares of psoriasis, especially strep throat
infections.
Minimize stress, which may make psoriasis
worse.
Try to avoid skin injuries and irritation, which can cause
new sores or make sores worse. Tight shoes, clothing, watchbands, and hats can
irritate the skin.
Avoid harsh chemicals and makeup that can
irritate the skin.
Use a home humidifier to increase moisture in
the air and help keep your skin moist.
