This test is adapted with permission from the American Diabetes Association. Take it to see whether you are at risk for diabetes. Diabetes is more common in African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, and Pacific Islanders than in white Americans.
For each statement that is true for you, give yourself the number of points listed next to "Yes" for that statement. If a statement is not true, give yourself a zero. Then total your score.
You are at high risk for having diabetes. See your health professional to be tested.
You are probably at low risk for having diabetes now. But don't just forget about it. Keep your risk low by losing weight if you are overweight, being active most days, and eating low-fat meals that are high in fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain foods.
