Symptoms of infection that do not improve with antibiotic treatment

If your symptoms are not improving despite antibiotic treatment, call your health professional to discuss the symptoms. You may need to be reevaluated if your symptoms:

  • Get worse or do not improve after several days of antibiotic treatment.
  • Remain or return after treatment has ended.

Sometimes a different dose or type of antibiotic may be needed to completely clear an infection.
