Jane Schwanke

Jane Schwanke has provided professional freelance medical writing to corporate clients in the Twin City area since 1995. She attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul in journalism and public relations.

Jane is a member of the Council of Independent Professional Consultants. Sponsored by the Minnesota Division of the American Cancer Society, she is a frequent speaker for professional organizations and the general public on topics such as "Cancer in the Workplace" and "The Benefits of Journal Writing During the Cancer Experience."

Her freelance services have included promotional and informational writing for publications, video scripts, brochures, news releases, and speeches. She currently produces a cable television program called Focus on Health, which features prominent physicians discussing preventive health and healthy lifestyles. Programs such as "Diabetes: Control It If You Have It; Prevent It If You Don't," "Kids & Smoking: Is Your Child at Risk?," and "Creating Value in Your Health Care" have benefited viewers in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Some of her clients include HealthPartners, Inc., Fairview Hospital and Healthcare, The American Cancer Society, Regions Hospital, The Dairy Council of Minnesota, WalkSport America Inc., and WebMD.

Prior to her freelance business, she served more than 10 years as a public relations coordinator, specialist, and writer for a major HMO in Minneapolis and a Level I trauma center in St. Paul.
