Jennifer R. Berman, MD, is a urologist and an internationally renowned expert and pioneer in the field of female urology and female sexual medicine. In 2001, Berman, who is among the few female urologists in the United States, co-founded the Female Sexual Medicine Center at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She serves as director of female urology and sexual medicine at the Rodeo Drive Women's Health Center in Beverly Hills, Calif.

In addition to her medical practice, Berman co-hosts, with her sister Laura Berman, PhD, the television series on Discovery Health Network, Berman and Berman. Considered a leading expert on women's sexual health, she has appeared on national television, in print, and on radio shows. She appears regularly on Good Morning America and has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN's Larry King Live, 48 Hours, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, Lifetime Television, America's Health Network, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, and others.

She is also the co-author of the best-selling book For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life, and the newly released Secrets of the Sexually Satisfied Woman: Ten Keys to Unlocking Ultimate Pleasure.

An author of numerous publications for peer-reviewed journals as well as several chapters on female sexual dysfunction, Berman has lectured worldwide. She has also made significant scientific contributions in the advancement of women's sexual health. For two consecutive years, she was awarded the Pfizer Scholar in Urology Award and has repeatedly been recognized with awards and honors at local, national, and international scientific meetings.

Her research focus is on the physiologic evaluation of the female sexual response, developing medical therapies for female sexual function complaints, and bio-identical hormone treatments. Berman is a principal investigator and consultant to pharmaceutical companies, assisting the development of therapies for female sexual dysfunction.

She is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and is a fellow of the American Urological Association and a member of American Medical Association, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health , and the Society for the Study of Impotence Research.

In her personal life, Berman is dedicated to increasing community awareness about women's health issues. She has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors including Israel Cancer Research Fund's Women of Action Award, The National Association of Women Business Owners Rising Star of the Year Award and the Los Angeles Business Journal's Women Who Make a Difference Award.

Berman received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her post-graduate urology residency training at the University of Maryland and received specialized fellowship training in female urology and female pelvic floor reconstructive surgery at UCLA Medical Center.
