Katrina Parker, an assistant managing editor at WebMD, is a seasoned journalist with experience as a reporter, copy editor, line editor, and editor. She is responsible for editing copy on WebMD, including news, features, and reference articles.
Before joining WebMD, Parker was a copy editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she edited 1A stories and special series, including award-winning coverage of Georgia's death penalty. Previously, she was night metro editor at The Telegraph in Macon, Ga. Parker also was copy desk chief at The Valdosta Daily Times, managing editor at a Jacksonville weekly newspaper, and a reporter at newspapers in Georgia and Tennessee.
Parker, an Atlanta native, is also an avid golfer. After competing in golf tournaments on the junior level, she received a golf scholarship to Tennessee Tech, where she earned her BS in journalism. She earned her pro golfer status in 1999, when she competed on the Futures Tour, before returning to journalism.
