Maria Marzella Mantione, PharmD

Maria Marzella Mantione, PharmD, is an associate clinical professor of community pharmacy practice at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She also serves as the wellness coordinator for King Kullen Pharmacy, where she provides specialized pharmacy services including comprehensive pharmaceutical care, a hypertension screening and monitoring service, and osteoporosis screening and education. She focuses much of her practice on self-care and nonprescription medications and has presented on self-care topics locally and nationally.

Mantione has been a member of the New York State Board of Pharmacy since 2010 and is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association, serving as a media advisor and education provider. Mantione has been a community pharmacist for more than 15 years and has assisted countless patients with self-care issues and medication education.

She received her BS in pharmacy in 1996 and Doctor of Pharmacy in 1998; both from St. John’s University. In 1999, she completed a residency in community pharmacy practice at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Mantione has been a certified geriatric pharmacist since 2000, specializing in safe medication use for seniors.
