Maryann Tomovich Jacobsen, MS, RD

Maryann Jacobsen is a registered dietitian, freelance writer, speaker, and co-author of Fearless Feeding: How to Raise Healthy Eaters from High Chair to High School. She is the founding editor of Raise Healthy Eaters, a popular blog about family nutrition. She is a regular blogger at Huffington Post and WebMD, and has written for the New York Times'  Motherlode, Los Angeles Times, Cooking Light, and She Knows. She has been quoted in various publications including Parents, Scholastic Parent & Child, and American Profile. She's also been featured on Good Morning America.

Jacobsen has 20 years of experience in the nutrition field working in many capacities, from outpatient nutrition counselor to corporate dietitian to freelance writer. As a family nutrition expert, she has worked with every stage of life -- children, adults, and the elderly. Through writing and speaking, she helps people of all ages adopt healthy habits that are doable and enjoyable.

Jacobsen received her undergraduate degree in nutrition from San Diego State University and her master’s degree in nutrition from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and its Nutrition Entrepreneur and Pediatric Nutrition dietetic practice groups.

Jacobsen lives with her husband and two children in San Diego.
