Merle Diamond, MD

Merle Diamond, MD, is associate director of the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago. She joined the staff of the Diamond Headache Clinic in 1989 after serving as an attending physician and clinical instructor at Northwestern University Hospital, Chicago, and as an attending physician at Evanston and St. Francis Hospitals, both in Evanston, Ill. Diamond is currently an attending physician in internal medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital and an emergency physician at Columbus and Saint Joseph Hospital, Chicago.

Diamond serves on the editorial board of Headache Quarterly Current Treatment and Research, a publication of the Diamond Headache Clinic. She has contributed numerous articles to the medical literature and has lectured extensively on various headache subjects, in particular, the treatment of headache in the emergency department and hormones and headache.

Diamond graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and received her medical education from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. She completed residencies in emergency medicine and internal medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She is board certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine, and has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
