Cluster Headaches - Surgery

Surgery for cluster headaches usually involves cutting or interrupting the nerves that send pain signals to the face. Another procedure is radiation, which uses a high-intensity beam to disrupt pain signals from the trigeminal nerve, which regulates sensation to the face. However, not much research exists on the long-term effectiveness of these procedures, and they are rarely done to treat cluster headaches.8
