What you may be experiencing with your bladder control problem has a real medical name—Overactive Bladder (OAB).
You manage your bladder problem every day, but why spend so much time dealing with it when OAB is not caused by anything you've done?
OAB is actually the frequent, involuntary (not under your control) contraction of the muscle that pushes down on your bladder. That contraction or pressure can lead to a loss of bladder control, which means more interruptions every day, such as:
- More leaks and wetting accidents
- More times running to the bathroom
- More strong urges to go
What are OAB Symptoms?
ENABLEX treats 3 main OAB symptoms:
- Urinary Incontinence is when you have sudden leaks or wetting accidents wherever you are.
- Urinary Urgency is when you feel a strong need to go to the bathroom right away.
- Urinary Frequency is when you need to make 8 or more trips to a bathroom in a 24-hour period.
What Factors May Be Present at the Same Time as OAB?
If you're curious about what's caused your bladder to start having problems, the truth is there aren't many ways to detect an underlying cause. What is known is that a number of factors in your life that are beyond your control may be present at the same time as OAB:
- Age — OAB is more common among older people, but aging itself does not cause OAB. Although it may be difficult to identify a cause for most cases of OAB, you should not accept it as a natural part of aging.
- Gender — Although women are more likely to have OAB than men, ENABLEX can help both men and women treat bladder control problems.
- Chronic illness — Just because you may have OAB, doesn't mean you have a chronic illness, so you shouldn't make any assumptions. However, some chronic conditions may have an effect on the bladder and the nerves that control it. Always talk to your doctor about getting the right diagnosis.
So for all that's not known about OAB, what is for sure? Once-daily ENABLEX can help reduce leaks and accidents due to OAB for a full 24 hours.
ENABLEX is a prescription medicine used in adults to treat the following symptoms due to a condition called overactive bladder, such as having a strong need to go to the bathroom right away (also called "urgency"), leaks or wetting accidents (also called "urinary incontinence"), or having to go to the bathroom too often (also called "urinary frequency").
Important Safety Information
