Is there medication that can prevent osteoporosis and fractures?

Yes. Medication is available. Osteoporosis drugs can help maintain or build bone. They are often recommended for people, especially women, at high risk of developing osteoporosis or bone fractures. Ask your doctor if osteoporosis medication is right for you.
