What's my child's responsibility in regard to bedwetting?
Well I think it's helpful to empower kids to take care of it themselves, just so they know it's not a punishment. There's a technique I really like that I call the double bubble, where the child can take care of it themselves. So here's what you do. So, put plastic on the mattress, sheet, sheet, blanket. And then over that, plastic, sheet, sheet, blanket. And then, a dry pair of pajamas right by the bed. So, when the child wakes up at night, you teach him or her, okay, when you get up and you're wet, go change your pajamas. Here are the new pajamas, right there. And you can strip off the first layer of sheets and underneath it is a nice dry layer of sheets you can just climb right back in. So you can take care of this yourself. It's easy to do and it's not a problem. So sure have your child involved in it, but not as a punishment and make it easy to do especially in the middle of the night.
