Peter Cavanagh, PhD
Peter R. Cavanagh, PhD, is the Virginia Lois Kennedy Chairman of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Academic Director of the Center for Research on the Diabetic Foot in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. At the Center for Research on the Diabetic Foot, researchers pursue a wide variety of studies, including mathematical modeling of the foot, imaging of the foot muscles in people with diabetic neuropathy, studying the mechanical characteristics of skin, designing optimal footwear for reducing pressure under the foot, and determining the properties of diabetic bone. As Academic Director of the Diabetic Foot Care program for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, his research program is closely integrated with the activities of CCF 's newly established Diabetic Foot Clinic.
