Hear Marilyn Talk about the Importance of Monitoring RA Symptoms
How RA Progresses
Living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can be more than just a challenge. From the little things you want and need to do every day—to the big things you'd like to plan for—RA can sometimes mean not knowing what lies ahead.
RA's attack on your body's joints can cause the surrounding bone and cartilage to weaken over time. As a result, your joints may feel stiff, achy, and swollen. People who develop moderate-to-severe RA may experience more intense pain and symptoms, greater difficulty performing daily tasks, and even loss of mobility. But even if you don't experience these types of symptoms, your RA may still be causing permanent damage to your joints.
Finding the Right Treatment
Unfortunately, it's not just the pain and stiffness of RA that can be so disruptive. Finding the right treatment can be just as difficult. The fact is, not all treatments work the same for everyone. Finding the right one for you can help change a life full of questions into the hope of a more certain tomorrow.
Keep in mind that there are many important factors to understand and consider when starting any treatment, including the potential risks and benefits. Be sure to discuss these with your doctor.
