Richard Weil, MEd, CDE

Board | Blog | Support Group

Richard Weil, MEd, CDE, is an exercise physiologist and certified diabetes educator. Exercise is a key factor in a healthy lifestyle and any long-standing weight loss. Rich Weil brings his expertise to WebMD's Exercise and Fitness message board and the WebMD Weight Loss Clinic[a WebMD Subscription Service] by answering individual questions about how to begin and maintain an exercise routine that will get results.

The WebMD Weight Loss Clinic uses a thorough, scientific method to gather all the information it needs to formulate your very own individualized diet plan that fits perfectly with your personality, eating habits, tastes, and your personal and professional life. Through the use of advanced information technology, your eating plan is regularly updated to fit in with your daily eating patterns, your wishes, your weight loss, and any new factors. Day after day, the diet corrects your eating pattern without disrupting it.

Weil is on staff at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center and the Behavioral Health Program at New York University Medical Center, both in New York City. He is the author of dozens of articles on exercise and health, and he wrote or contributed to the exercise chapters of several books, including The Gym Workout, for the Time-Life Books series on exercise. Weil has appeared on CBS's This Morning and other television shows. He speaks regularly about exercise and health at local and national conferences for physicians, nurses, and other health professionals, and the public.
