Sara Butler, associate director of content planning, leads the team responsible for proposing educational destinations that teach WebMD’s users about important health and wellness topics. By grouping the most insightful, focused topics into comprehensive packages, her team is able to help users better understand the health issues that affect their daily lives.
Butler has been with WebMD for 7 years, originally as an audience insights expert with responsibility for projecting traffic trends into the future. Prior to WebMD she was a senior creative lead with Home Depot’s e-commerce web site, providing content guidelines and developing microsite concepts for special company initiatives. She has additional experience writing colorful catalog copy for a high-end home furnishing retailer’s e-commerce web site. Early in her career she worked as an audio engineer in studios on Nashville’s Music Row and for Turner Entertainment Networks, before the lure of advertising production drew her into the multimedia and online world.
Butler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Middle Tennessee State University, but will always share her loyalty with her previous alma mater, Michigan State.
