Correspondent Sean Martin has covered healthcare in the nation's capital for
more than seven years.
Winner of a breaking news award from the Society of Professional Journalists,
Martin writes about a wide range of issues, including the safety of food and
consumer products, FDA reviews of new drugs and devices, the ethical debate
over research using stem cells from fetal tissue, and congressional
deliberations over Medicare reform and managed care regulations.
In the past, Martin covered Medicare and various medical issues for American
Medical News at the American Medical Association. He also served as senior
editor at Health News Daily, tracking congressional action on healthcare
legislation. After graduating cum laude in 1991 from Williams College with a
bachelor of arts degree in English, Martin taught conversational English to
company executives and private students in Tokyo. He also has worked as a
healthcare researcher for the Advisory Board Company in Washington.
