BOTOX® is FDA approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don't work.
BOTOX® treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don't receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.
Patients Suffering with Excessive Underarm Sweating
One of the difficulties with excessive sweating under
the arms is the lack of choice one can truly make when
buying clothes. For me, when I am out shopping for clothes,
I have to be like a detective.
Why? Because the goal is not necessarily fashion as much as it is to conceal that I have an excessive underarm sweating problem in the first place. I have to avoid certain materials and certain styles. Therefore most of the clothes I choose consist of the color black or white and usually it is a cotton material. I have to forsake fashion to mask my condition. – Shelbi C.
I work in a very high profile industry which includes lots of stress and tons of meetings with my clients. Shopping for these events are a NIGHTMARE. I'm limited to black, midnight black and dark black. I went to one of these events and I started excessively sweating.
I had a brilliant idea to use the hand dryers to dry my shirt. On my third trip back to the bathroom an associate of mine walked in and saw me!!! I was busted, embarrassed and, yep, sweating more! – Mandy A.
My best friend was getting married and asked me to be her maid-of-honor. Everything went fine until her husband's mother very dramatically pointed out my problem. In front of the rest of the wedding party!!
She actually made us wait to take the wedding photos until my dress could be dried. She didn't want her son's wedding pictures to be "ruined" by the one girl with the "problem." – Michelle V.
I have had several embarrassing moments but one that stands out the most is my wedding day. I was not able to enjoy my wedding as much as I could have and I found myself going to the bathroom every half hour.
When I danced the first dance with my husband I did not want to put my arms around his neck because I was afraid of staining his tuxedo with the deodorant and I did not want him to smell me. It was most embarrassing when family tried hugging me. I didn't want to hug them because I knew they would be able to see how much I was sweating and might even be able to smell me. – Yadira T.
Patients Treated with BOTOX®
I used to spend up to $150 per month replacing ruined clothing, dry cleaning my stained clothing and on treatments that didn't control my sweating. Now, I worry about my sweating a lot less and feel like my sweating is under control.
– Laura L.
Sweating is not something that's controlling my daily routine anymore. Now I can do things like standing up in front of a group of people at work without having to look down to see if I’m sweating under my arms.
Thankfully, BOTOX® treatments have helped me control my underarm sweating.
– Tresha S.
I feel like the sweating is under control. I no longer have to change shirts several times a day. – Dominique M.
I no longer think about the things I'm wearing and if I have enough clothes to cover up something. It used to be constantly on my mind. Now it’s not anymore.
– Cate W.
