Sleep Disorders Health Center
Where to Find a Sleep Specialist
You may need a sleep specialist if a sleep disorder is interfering with your daily life. A doctor or accredited sleep disorder center may be able to help. Here are links to various physician directories and sleep centers.
American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)
This is an organization of doctors and researchers who are dedicated to the advancement of sleep medicine and related research. A list of accredited sleep centers can be found on their web site. They also have a listing of certified behavioral sleep medicine specialists that have expertise in using behavioral and cognitive methods to prevent and treat sleep problems.
American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
The American Board of Sleep Medicine is the medical board that certifies doctors and researchers as "Board Certified" in sleep medicine. The ABSM maintains a searchable list of Board Certified Sleep Specialists by state or name.
American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM)
Dentists interested in treating sleep disorders with oral appliances are often members of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (formerly the Sleep Disorders Dental Society). The AADSM maintains an informational web site that includes a searchable directory of dentists specialized in treating certain sleep problems.

Important Safety Information
Vimpat (lacosamide) is a medicine that is used with other medicines to treat partial onset seizures in patients 17 years of age and older with epilepsy. Vimpat is generally well-tolerated, but may not be for everyone. Ask your doctor if Vimpat is right for you. Antiepileptic drugs, including Vimpat, may cause suicidal thoughts or actions in a very small number of people, about 1 in 500. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have new or worsening symptoms of depression, any unusual changes in mood or behavior, or suicidal thoughts, behavior, or thoughts about self harm that you have never had before or may be worse than before. Please see additional patient information in the Medication Guide at the end of the full prescribing information.
