Fab at 40: Hollywood Hair

What I'm doing is, first of all, we're playing hide and seek. When someone has a lot of hair, you just mainly want to get the back of it up, hide the hair and then pin the hair up to design on the front. All you do is take the back by sweeping it up. I did it in two sections here, and then twisting it up. And by putting two or three pins by interlocking them, and that will keep the hair up in the back. And really, what we've done is created an anchor. This way when you put a pin in, one pin will lock the pins in instead of having to use multiple. By doing a little back combing, it does give the hair a little more support. This way it doesn't fall and also gives her volume. All right, what we're going to do is we're going to go to the front. Start trying to get some of these pieces a little bit more. Little teasing. Light spray. All right, we've got two more pieces here and what we're going to do is we're going to roll those up and place them in. Whenever you have bangs you can always bring the bang into the hair for it to go all the way up, or you can create the bangs and use softness on the forehead. What we're going to do is take a pin and secure this last piece up on top. All right, what I'm going to do is take an iron. I'll use the flat iron just enough to lift some of these pieces around the face a little bit. They make a few sprays that are called thermals. Thermals are sprays that are used for heat. Most people these days when they use flat irons or curling irons, should be using a thermal. What that does, is it protects the hair from the heat. The steam or smoke that you see that comes off your iron is the silicone that's in the spray that's sticking to the iron. It will turn, um, a little reddish tint to your iron on there for you. Excellent.
