How does it work?
Weight Watchers is a balanced diet. Many diets eliminate or decrease certain foods such as fats or carbohydrates. Instead of eliminating foods, Weight Watchers uses rigorous food and activity planning that includes nutritionally balanced food and group support. Weight Watchers uses a point system for controlling food intake instead of counting calories. Weight Watchers also provides prepared meals with a pre-assigned point value. The program also provides specific recipes for preparing meals with certain point values.
Possibly Effective for:
- Weight loss. The Weight Watchers diet can help produce modest weight loss when used for 6 months or more. After 6 months to 2 years on the Weight Watchers diet, weight loss averages 3-6 kilograms (or 6.6 to 13 pounds).
