Immediate noticable improvement in severe pitted edema that had been unresponsive to all pharmaceutical solutions for 18 months after anaphlaxis. After 24 hours my socks no longer left indents and after one week no more pitting on shins, fingers or cheek bones. Unexpected benefit of reducing my need for 400 mg of Ultram per day to 150 mg of Ultram per day. Had extremely foul and cloudy urine for ...

The pull-down menu for this page did not allow me to choose the correct reason for taking Pycnogenol. I am taking it to help with eye health. I see here that Web Md says "Maritime pine bark extract is used for asthma, high cholesterol, decline in memory, ADHD, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support many of these uses." However, according to the American Botanical Council, Pycnogenol is one of the most extensively researched herbal supplement preparations in terms of both clinical studies and underlying biological activity. Here is a link to a randomized control study from the Institute of Health: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19916788/ I have only been taking it for two weeks and already my eye feels stronger. I don't have diabetes and my blood pressure is well controlled so I feel I have a shot with this supplement to improve my eye health in general. I feel like my energy is better and as a bonus the mild ankle swelling I have caused by my BP med has all but disappeared. Read More Read Less

I am 80 years old, and take 350 mg Pycnogenol each day ,already for 15 years . I was working until 76 years and feel like 60 . I never had a cold for 10 years . This is the best OTC medication what you can use to be fit. Now I try to ad L-citrulline for ED , will see how it will work. 2 Years ago I had a stroke because of high cholesterol ,but I was lucky w/o any problems left thanks Pycnogenol

Interferes with URINARY OUTPUT! The stream is weakened. While I'm on this, the stream is so weak, it becomes dirty. (Women will understand) I am unable to control the stream, straining to evacuate does nothing. I don't know if it has done anything on my veins, they come and go and I take other remedies which I think work better (Vitamin E + COQ10) I had high hopes for this, since it's supposed to help the skin but I also have extremely low BP and low blood sugar and read it lowers them further. So far no dizziness induced by this. I read it "helps" the kidneys. It seems to be doing a BAD number on my urethra. This started after I'd taken the first cap. Also, my Pine Bark extract caps are too high dosage, it is not easy having to split and fill out an empty cap (i'm almost out of those). This started from the first pill. I have taken 2 per day at really high (6,000mg a pill) dosage. I wouldn't repurchase. Sadly I bought a brand that was a HUGE bottle and now I'm stuck with all that. They should make 30 pills for 1/6th what I paid the huge bottle. WILL NOT REPURCHASE. Also BEWARE of pycnogenol: the one sold in USA is adulterated by core rupt HORPAUGH or however they spell it. Pycnogenol is NOT the real pine bark fromm France, they mess with it. (This was published 10 years ago, Horpaugh got exposed for that!) Buy French Maritime Pine Bark ONLY, NOT pycnogenol. WT H? They have a drop box for what?? My brand isn't listed here so I picked a random. Read More Read Less

I started getting swelling around the ankles, which turned out to be Venous insufficiency, mainly due to high blood pressure and being overweight. Started with 30 mg 2x daily, which helped, but it was too expensive for a low dose - so I bought the higher dose (Pycnogenol by Swanson 100mg) thru Amazon, and this dosage works much better! Started taking 200 mg daily for about a week, then went to 100 mg 1x daily and within a few days - swelling down, overall more energetic and happy feeling, like I literally just turned the block back 10 years. Also, my facial skin rashes from Rosacea have also cleared up almost completely since taking this supplement. A great choice for these conditions. Overall - great results!Read More Read Less

This supplement dramatically improved my overall mental function. I found that I am able to focus on detailed information in areas of moderate distraction.

Been taking 1500 mg L- Arginine and 100 mg of pycogentol in the morning, then take 1500 mg of L- citrillune before bed for about a month, ED was a big problem. Iâ??m amazed at the results!! Have strong erections again and more than once at night. Have patience and give it time to work and youâ??ll be as surprised as I was! It will take more than likely, at least a month. I sincerely hope this helps someone!

First off? IT WORKS. But Big Pharma cannot control it, so therefore it is "POSSIBLY SAFE". What a crock. Indians have used it FOR CENTURIES. 'Big Pharma' RUINED my heart. 2 med' were mixed by a doctor who SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING - 20+ Malpractice suits pending - but he goes on and on. I got antibiotic colitis, was told "it was all my head", and ended up with persistent atrial fibrillation. I pro-tennis athlete with ZERO heart history. Long story short, segue 6 years LATER when I was FINALLY ably to receive treatment. My Ejection Fraction was down to 27/28%!!! They asked if I could GET OUT OF A CHAIR, UNAIDED! I still had to work, teach, and play tennis LIKE THIS! The cutoff for an Ablation (I wanted to start simple - not MAZE, Pacemaker, etc) was an E/F of 35%. The surgeon told me there was "no way" to raise my E/F. Started researching, and discovered a heart study with Pycnogenol. 45 days later, final Echo. 36%. A 30% INCREASE. Numbness? Tingling? At night, laying down? Mine was increasing DESPITE a very successful Ablation. Restarted Pyc', 3 x 360mg, spread out through the day. Numbness and tingling (and right foot being colder) have dissipated to almost nothing. My doctors are like 'ho hum', or "hmmmmm", but since THERE IS NO KICKBACK AS THERE IS IN ALL THE HIGH-END PHARMACEUTICALS? You won't EVER hear about it. Which is also why Big Pharma wants to make most 'alternative' (read: NATURAL) medicine ILLEGAL. Trust me; If they can ban this stuff? It will come back, on TV, with a catchy little tune...PYTESTOLLLLLLL....la la la.... At $500+ a month. Pricks. WEB MD? Start reporting FACT. THIS STUFF WORKS.Read More Read Less

Been taking 100mg for two weeks & am surprised at the results. My A1c's are in the 6 to 5.7 range. Have had some low readings lately (52, 66, 62, but without any hypo effects. I attribute this to [occasionally] taking 25mg of metformin when I feel I might consume too many carbs. I rarely take metformin because of my semi-vegan diet & workouts. Since 08 my highest A1c was 6.2 & lowest was 5.7. Doc sez I actually only have to do the A1c once a year. I'm super skeptical when it comes to supplements, but this pycnogenol & L-arginine/citrulline for hypertension has my bio markers exactly where I want them. Doc tells me I'm as pro-active as they get. I have an unopened bottle of simvistatin the pharmacy can't take back. Anyways, good luck.Read More Read Less

Pros: I think it does help with ED, though probably not enough on its own. It seems to lower blood sugar or strengthen the effectiveness of insulin. Cons: Dry mouth and skin on hands feels really leathery when in water for more than a minute. Skin returns to normal and dry mouth is reduced after about a week or not using it. The lower blood sugar can also catch you off guard. Others have reported this supplement will cause an allergic reaction if you're allergic to pine. It's also expensive, particularly if labeled "Pycnogenol". Other cheaper supplements advertise similar benefits and you may want to consider those if you experience issues taking this or want to save money. Read More Read Less

Aic was 6.9 before and 6.3 within a few months on 100 mg pychnogenol. My internist did not believe pychnogenol could do this, so I stopped using it and A1c went back to 6.9. Went back on it and A1c back to 6.3. Lost 15 lbs and A1c on pychnogenol went to 5.9.

Years ago we heard about it from a chiropractor who was taking it for its high antiocidant features and his shoulder pain went away. So since my husband had shoulder pain too and was going to have to quit work, and I had bad bruising, wWe took Pycnogenol. The pain went away, the bruises went away. We ran out of Pycnogenol and the pain came back and the bruises. Back to the Pycnogenol and they were gone. After taking it for a while both problem were gone. My son told four friends with carpel tunnel. Four cures. After two months of P.T. for a pinched nerve in my neck with no help, I remembered Pycnogenol and within a week I was back to normal! They say you need ! mg per pound of body weight. We've been taking it for years. Now I am 80 and people keep commenting how young I look. Maybe it is because of the Pycnogenol? I didn't know it was good for that. Now I am using 2 100 mg. Pine Bark as it is much cheaper but supposed to have the same effect. I think people that don't get good results aren't taking enough.Read More Read Less

I take 300 mg daily for Chronic Venous Insufficiency. It works as good as compression stockings and is a lot more comfortable. Only drawback is high price. Since it is not a prescription drug. there is no insurance coverage.
