I have taken this twice daily at 4Mg and recently started taking 12 MG in the morning and 4 Mg in the evening. I'm 74 and 3 years ago started to have thin skin issues, bleeding and bruising easily. At 1 pill per day I felt some improvement then started double that dose and wow! My skin is soft and flexible again and I don't get sores and bruised arms at all. My eyes feel great and even though I fi...

I have taken 4mg daily for 5 weeks. I work outside and even with sunscreen get tan. However While my skin definitely did not pick up any pigment (may have gotten lighter) I had some worrisome side effects. I started feeling faint every time I stood up and finally started having trouble taking a full breath. I was at the Doctor and while my blood pressure is always on the low/normal side (10...

Within a week of taking this I developed a severe allergy around my neck and chest. Doctor said drug reaction. Am on steroids and it’s taking a long time to heal. The burning, prickling itch is almost unbearable. I was hoping it would help my vision. 7mg soft gel capsules.

Within 3 days of taking 24 mg of Liposomal Astaxanthin I noticed an improvement in my vision. I also have more energy and my skin is radiant, I'll continue taking this but will decrease my dosage to 4/8 mg as I've read that even 2mg is beneficial.

Has cleared up my hyperpigmentation (melasma) significantly. Didn’t actually expect such good (or any) results. Took close to 3 months on 8 mg daily to really notice change.

I am a 42 years old woman and since 33 suffering from joint pain, starting gaining weight around my hips, loosing some of my physical powers, i guess age related and estrogen taking over progesterone and testosterone. I started taking some agnus vitex...for sustaining progesterone production and also astaxanthin, just 1/4 of a dose, because my pills are of 12 mg. This was too much for me, made me anxious and trouble sleeping, so with just 4 mg i am good, energetic, feel less pain.... Though my form of substance is in a gel pill, i just sqeeze that little by little the oil inside ??Read More Read Less

I red it is a good antioxidant and immunity regulator. I tried a 12mg supplement. From the first or second night i had a very poor sleep, just 3 hours and then felt restless and not being able to go back to sleep. During daytime felt tired . Maybe it is a too large dose.

I read something interesting from a researcher. He said if your FOX03 gene is active, you are three times more likely to live to be 100. Astaxanthin is known to activate that gene - in one study, up to 90% more active. The FOX03 lies dormant in 2/3rds of people. I turned 80 recently, and my dentist said, "You are the youngest-looking 80 year old I have ever seen." An endodontist said my teeth and roots look healthy, the x-rays of someone decades younger. A few years ago, I asked my opthamologist how my eyes compared to other people my age. He said, "You are in the 99th percentile." I started taking astaxanthin when I was around 68, and could only do three pushups, max. Later, I could do eight pushups regularly. On the Washington Mall when I was 75, I did 32 strict pushups without training for it or anything. One thing, I've not noticed anything different as far as feeling a difference from taking astaxanthin; but I think I'll continue with it. Read More Read Less

Roughly two years ago I decided to take astaxanthin for type II diabetes and hyperlipidemia. Within a few months, it reduced my HbA1C level to normal, enabled me to cut my insulin intake by more than half, and entirely eliminated my LDL cholesterol problem. My high levels of triglycerides dramatically improved as well and are now approaching acceptable levels. I started out using NOW astaxanthin 4 mg. and later switched over to the Sports Research 6 mg. brand; both have proven effective. I am continuing to use the latter in order to maintain the progress outlined above. It appears to be helping in bringing excess liver enzymes into line. Touted as nature's most effective strengthener of the human immune system, I am hoping that it will protect me from infection from COVID. So far, so good! Another goal is to delay or to entirely prevent the onset of AMD--a serious eye disease affecting the elderly. Read More Read Less

I originally started talking this brand because I am a runner and in the sun every day. Due to sweating, sunscreen won't stay on. A few times a year a blood vessel in my would burst in my eye looking horrible. It would take a couple weeks for the blood to dissipate. Since I started this, I hardly have this in my eye and if I get it, it's gone that same day. Looking at the list of everything it does, I am less tiresd, muscle recovery is excellent, and my skin is more youthful.

It helped some. It isn't a cure, but it is worth taking if you can afford it in conjunction with treatment through a rheumatologist. Krill oil is usually the cheapest source. Products labeled as solely astaxanthin have less in them for more expensive, and omega threes help with RA too.

I started feeling faint every time I stood up and finally started having trouble taking a full breath. I was at the Doctor and while my blood pressure is always on the low/normal side (104/70)it had dropped to 94/55. I used my inhaler for a few days and discontinued astaxanthin and was able to take a deep breath again after a few days. I am pretty active and healthy and follow a Paleo diet so my weight is low...but not sure this product is for me. Checking with my naturopath as was happy about the sun protection. This has been a god send. Went from 2mg now on 10mg. I received 31 botox injections for migraines and i thought the side effects were going to kill me. I needed to detox from botox and my friend gave me astaxathin. It took away my dizziness nausea elevated my mood. I will take it the rest if my life

I took astaxanthin for several years as a supplement plus lutein and other supplements recommended for eye sight and prevention of eye disease. In early 2018 I was diagnosed with dry AMD and I upped the dosages plus took nutritional IV therapy for several month. None of this stopped the progression to WET AMD later in 2018 - it was a very fast progression. I don't know why it didn't work for me. I don't smoke, I eat carefully (keto style diet plus some fruit) and exercise and am mentally very active. I hear it worked for a few people. I don't know why it didn't work for me and I'm devastated and afraid of blindness - my prescription has been getting stronger and stronger. I am still able to drive and my ability for finer focus works if I'm using my glasses - maybe the astaxanthin is helping with that. Read More Read Less

I began taking this supplement 60 days prior to a trip to Central America, to prevent radiation damage from body scanners. I was at the beach for hours with NO sunscreen, and didn't even tan, much less burn. Really amazed at the effect. Will repeat for trip to the Caribbean next month.

I am 78 and have been taking 12 mg a day. I am taking this for a sore knee and to see if it would improve my eyesight. I am very excited to see my vision is considerably better. My knee not so much. But I intend to continue taking this as I consider improved vision a true blessing and I am so happy when I look out and I can see things so clearly.
