I have taken this product at the first sign of urinary tract infections, and it always prevents the progression of the infection.

I have Spina-Biffida Occulta and now experience Urinary Incontinence associated with this. I began In/Out Catheterizations in 2006. I had been averaging 2-3 UTIs/year until 2013 when I began having more. Most were r/t diarrhea & bowel incontinence. I take D Mannose to cure and prevent chronic cystitis. After years of using antibiotics and becoming resistant to the strongest .. I discovered D Mannose. During an attack I take three tablets every three hours and it clears within 2 - 3 days. For maintenance I take two per day. I have no idea why this product is not recognised by the NHS in the UK, or recommended as a matter of course by GPs. ... Show Full Comment

I take D-mannose when my bladder gets irrated. This can happen from stress, environmental triggers or certain foods. D-mannose does not kill bacteria people. You can not cure a UTI with it. You can take it daily for preventing the bacteria from sticking to the lining of your bladder and causing a UTI. But D-mannose will only flush the bacteria out. After suffering with a UTI for 4 weeks,5 trips to GP and numerous AB nothing was working, Tried D-Mannose in tablet form, took 2 every 2 hours for 2 whole days and suffered with extreme bloating, cramps and headaches.
