My children use to suffer from extreme nose bleeds. If the air turned from humid to dry, or when they jumped into a chlorine pool, or when they were physically active the nose bleeds would last for an hour. I thought they were going to bleed to death. I've used rutin for 30 years whenever I feel a cold coming, a sore throat, or coughing. It has to be in the beginning, and after 3 days, a 500 mg pill a day, all the symptons are gone. Magical. But eat something when you take it.

I had moderate hemorrhoids in about 1973, at age 43. Some bleeding, and itching. Our family doctor, Dr. George Mitchell, then of Rockville MD, just recommended 500 mg of rutin per day. He said that it greatly strengthens the walls of all the body's cells, and would shrink the veins and cause them to "go back where they came from." I've used this for a week and it caused dizziness,or lightheadedness. I almost fainted when i was at work. I was also taking calcium and vit d supplements at the time i was taking rutin.
