I've been taking biotin for over 2 years. Plus: Better skin and strong nails that actually grow. Better quality hair. Minus: No increase in the amount of hair down the length but more hair at the scalp. I was hoping to grow LONGER stronger hair. I used to get big handfuls of hair falling out every time I washed my hair and whenever I combed it. I have been taken Biotin 5000mcg for almost a month and I do see improvement in my skin and hair(somewhat looks fuller). However, lately I notice my heart is racing for no particular reason and I began to have feelings of depression. I don't know if its the cause of the hi potency of this supplement that I am taking. i have taken two 5000mcg daily for 6 mo. My hair use to come out in handfuls but very littlefalls out now. My bald spots are disappearing with new growth. I am loving the results. It did take several months to see results. My hair is definately more fuller.

I take two 5000mcg of biotin daily. It definitely stopped my hair from falling out as much, but when it came to growing new hair, it didn't do the trick.
