I have Insomnia for over a year now (could not sleep at all). Offcourse used sleeping pills and my doctor discribed anti-depressiva. But i don't have a depression so i don't want to take them..Only one thing helps and that is L Tryptophan (800 - 1000mg). (Tried 5HTP as well). It puts me to sleep! 6 hours sleep for me know! Suffered strong feelings of depression on this. I couldn't find anything that said this was a side effect (?) Took the dose WAY down and still felt depressed. Also has some dizziness as well. Felt better after getting off of it. Helped me sleep but felt too zoned out and depressed during the day to continue.

L-Tryptophan 500 mg mfg by Now Foods, Bloominggton,IL gets me to sleep and awakened fully refreshec. Taking instead of Somnapure, MidNite, Tylenol-Pm. It's wonderful stuff. Like eating a whole turkey! Ah, ah!

Comment:
Taking Alteril for insomnia, which has 666mg of l-tryptophan. It works better than anything over the counter I've tried without drowsiness the next day, once I adjusted to it.
