I started taking st John's wort about a month ago, as an OCD, without consulting a psychiatrist. I used to have no appetite for doing anything from the moment I woke up but now I feel kinda better. However, it's a natural med, so it could have a placebo effect as well. I'm a lot more irritable and ironic than usual, though.

I have taken this supplement on several occasions, between 3 months and two years over the last 20 years. It is very effective. I take 300 mg standardardized x 3 per day. It takes only a few days to feel an improvement on my mood. Negative thoughts seem to flow freely instead of "sticking". I sleep much better too.
