I took St. John's Wort for 3 years for mild depression and it worked wonderfully!! Things got real tough a few years ago and I let a doctor talk me into taking a prescription anti-depressant. Anyway, I have been through about 4 prescription antidepressants and NONE have made me feel as good (mentally) as when I was on St.John's Wort! Right now I am trying to "taper" off my cur ... I always had to take paxil if i wanted to feel better.. my overall problem is anxiety.. so from this i tend to get obsessive and paniky. From this i felt a mild depression. I started taking sjw three months ago, and it helped lots i felt happyer with energy. Helped me with my therapy. When I take this I get extremely nauseous for the first 20 minutes or so, then it goes away. Also, my eyes are more sensitive to bright lights throughout the day, but nothing some sunglasses can't help. Overall, I have noticed a significant improvement in my mood stability, and my mood swings are less severe. They haven't gone away completely, but you can definitely notice a difference, ... I am taking St john's wort is helping a little but but is given me headaches .o far I am going to continue taking is my last resort.I have ben taking so far two bottles three times a day 300 mg.I am thinking in cut my dosis and take only two times a day.
