Have tried kombucha and found that it causes gastric distress. I don't care much for the claims that it's healthy, at the end of the day the claims are nothing more than anecdotal. If it causes you any discomfort, stop drinking it. The claim that your body gets used to it is based in blind faith and not science. Now one of the ingredients that is a by product of the fermentation process of sugar i...

On the recommendation of several friends who drank Kombucha Tea, I tried two sips. Within minutes, my right ear plugged up (like I had been swimming and full of water - very ODD) and my throat itched and head hurt. When I got home, I felt like I was having an allergic reaction, so I took some allergy medicine and laid down for 30 minutes which resolved the symptoms I was experiencing. When I sh...

I chugged a bottle of kombucha before boarding a transcontinental flight. On arrival, I had no effects of jet lag for the first time ever. I now drink 12 oz.of GT's Synergy kombucha daily, and before and after long flights to offset jet lag. There has been a slight increase in my blood sugar, but not enough for concern.

I drink bottled water and coffee ALL the time. I wanted something in addition to my water and coffee. I do not want any sugary drinks. I went to Target and purchased different flavors of Health-Ade Kombucha, V8 plus Energy, and Humm probiotic Kombucha. I have had NO side effects. None are spectacular at doing anything but providing belching and liquid for my body. It has been 3 days. So, far so good on all of them.

I have been making my own lemon and ginger Kombucha for many months , along with a few other kinds even a Tumeric root and Lime. I really enjoy it and feel good. I am not sure on the cure- all remedy but I love the taste, and it has allowed me to be weaned off of Diet Pepsi. I do have to be careful not to drink more than 12 ounces a day though or I think it gives me too much yeast and causes me to itch around my privates.

If it causes you any discomfort, stop drinking it. The claim that your body gets used to it is based in blind faith and not science. Now one of the ingredients that is a by product of the fermentation process of sugar is acetalaldehyde, and it's present in kombucha. This substance is a carcinogen, how can this possibily be good for you?Read More Read Less

I was desperate and that's an understatement. For months been bloated, diarrhea non stop and the Doctor put me on antibiotics. When it did not fix it - he said relax. Long story short! I am no longer running to the bathroom or having accidents. No stomach growls, no flatulence. I am relieved I found Kombucha.

I have had severe GERD for many years. After drinking kombucha tea for a few months, my GERD has all but disappeared and I no longer need to take prescriptions for acid reflux.

I bought bottled Kombucha just to try it as a beverage. I did not want it for any kind of treatment. It gave me a dreadful heartburn. I did not realize it contained caffeine and a little alcohol.

When I got home, I felt like I was having an allergic reaction, so I took some allergy medicine and laid down for 30 minutes which resolved the symptoms I was experiencing. When I shared my experience with those who gave me the Kombucha to try, their response was that they hadn't heard of anyone having an adverse allergic reaction. When I started to research on my own, I found that those who SOLD the supplies to make it touted that this sort of reaction was a sort of "detox" of the body, yet when I searched outside of those profitting from the sale of Kombucha, I found that there were indeed many concerns about it and that allergic reactions were NOT uncommon and that the risks outweighed any proven benefits. I just wanted to share my experience in the event that it might help others showing interest in the acclaimed supposed "benefits" of this tea and to PROCEED WITH CAUTION and to EDUCATE YOURSELF on the true benefits outside of those who brew it themselves or profit from selling it.Read More Read Less
