I am 56 male and play basketball weekly. About 10 years ago I stopped playing due to the knee pain and swelling. I then stated on Glucosimine/Chondroitin from Costco, 2 pills per day. After 6 weeeks all the knee pain was gone. That was over 10 years ago and I still play bball weekly with no pain.

Hello everybody. Word of WARNING about glucosamine! Although it helps to reduce arthritis pain, it raised my Cholesterol level from usual 189 (which I always had) to 233! Normal count should be below 200! I would suggest for these who wants to continue or start glucosamine to talk to doctor and check the cholesterol level you have. Google the topic, I was not alone having this problem. Be healthy!
