I also took this when you could legally purchase it at GNC (1999-2000?). I experienced no negative side affects other than my girl friend, at the time, saying "...don't take that no more...". I had just come up from basement and started chasing her around the house after completing another killer workout. There might be some validity to behavioral changes. But as far as weight lifting gains go,...ANDROSTAT WAS THE SHIT!!

I took this before really reading up on it. I had no adverse effects and made substantial gains in a short period of time. There is a pretty significant increase in libido and mental energy. I was told to follow it up with a post cycle therapy to help regulate your hormones as you come off of it. I took Androdrol by anabolic warfare.

Back when you could buy it in any health food store I took this along with creatine and my lift partner also took this for one 30day cycle. We both had awesome gains, took two weeks off and started another 30day cycle but lift partner didnâ??t my max went from 290lbs to 340lbs within 30days, my lift partners max stayed at under 300lbs. Super fast gains made me feel awesome! This being classified as a roid is total BS US gov couldnâ??t make any money off of it so they made it illegal, imagine that.Read More Read Less

I used this product back when you could buy it at GNC and it wasn't a banned substance. I took it for 3 months and my workout partner did not. My gains were substantially better than his with an increase in 70 lbs on my bench press in 30 days.

"Androstenedione is said to enhance athletic performance and strength by increasing testosterone production, thereby building muscle. However, in double-blind studies, when androstenedione was given to men, it did not alter total testosterone levels, nor improve sports performance, strength, or lean body mass. (2–7 links to studies) It did, however, increase estrogen levels, an effect that would not be considered favorable. Curiously, some evidence suggests that androstenedione does raise testosterone levels levels in women; again, this is not likely to produce favorable results, and it could cause harm (see Safety Issues ). 8,11 The most consistent effect of androstenedione is to increase estrogen levels.
