I have Lupus and Diabetes, so you may imagine I also have issues with depression. It runs in both sides of my family, so I was doomed from the start. I prefer more natural remedies, which have less side effects. I take one 400 mg in the morning without eating or taking any other meds, which is important with Sam e! It has helped me tremendously with no side effects and has also helped with liver i ... Show Full Comment

It made my depression much worse, and I was in bed for 3 days before I felt better. I have Hashimoto's and take prescription thyroid and also many supplements. So I'm not sure if there was an interaction with something else, or if I took too much. I am tempted to try it again and start with a very tiny amount, since I keep reading that it helps.

I was taking generic Wellbutrin but became moody and anxious on it. I stopped and decided to try something natural. After reading about SAMe, I bought the 400mg strength and have been taking each morning for about three weeks. I'm calmer and more focused, and I haven't had any of the gastric problems as some unfortunate people have experienced. As a high school teacher, my job has impr ... Show Full Comment

Taking 400mg for anxiety, depression, uncontrollable tearfulness, bouts of rage & complete inertia. By day 5 I noticed a huge difference in my ability to function and react in a normal way to situations. Am currently experiencing lowered blood pressure, but don't know if this is related at all, or perhaps to the Sodium Stearate and Mannitol also in this particular brand (Nature Made). Gen ... I have been taking Sam-e for less than a week. 3 days to be exact. I'm taking it for depression and low energy and crying spells for no good reason. I have been feeling loss of strength and horrible nightmares, and nervousness. I'm not sure if I will stop the tx or if I'll ride it out for a couple weeks and see what happens.
