I have lupus and tested very low for vitamin D. It took a pretty high dose to get my vitamin D blood level up. Lupus symptoms seem to be be stable. There have been no flareups.

My vit D level was a bit low, 27, and increasing my supplement intake level by 1000 units was recommended when I was diagnosed with SAD, but not severe enough to require an antidepressant. I have only been on it a couple weeks, but I do feel better, mood and energy levels both up. I take senior vit/mineral, calcium + D, and D3 supplements.
