I had a few years of massive cold sores, all over my lips, they were terrible a friend told me about lysine tablets and in 3 years I haven't had one ever again. I took a tablet daily for about a year, niw I'm down to 2 a week. It works.

I had been using 2-3 bottles of Lysine but the cold sores keep coming back to me. It's no use and wasted of time & $$$

I take Lysine 500 mg when I feel a cold sore started, usually I know when one is coming by a bad mood/funk that sets in a day or two before the actual sore. One of the Lysine tabs knocks it out in less than 12 hours for me.One tab is usually enough for each flare up. Was taking Valtrex at great expense: that didn't work as well as Lysine.

My doctor told me to take it along with a zinc tablet. I only use them when I feel a cold sore coming on. Works like a charm!

This is the only natural remedy I have used and can say works for sure. I take two tablets at first tingle of the sore and several through the day until in healing phase. I use as preventative if I am sick or run down. Note that the tablets will not work if the product is expired. Possibly they are also less effective if not stored in the fridge.

I used to be plagued with cold sores on my lips until a nurse advised me to take lysin. That was 7 years ago and I have never had a cold sore since. Take one tablet daily. No side effects whatsoever. Wonderful product!

OK, it does work for cold sores BUT, when I slathered some on at night, I woke up with very swollen lips. O must be allergic to it.

Lysine has been great for me, I used to get outbreaks every other month but then started taking it daily and they stopped, BUT these are dangerous to take too much a day! Only take them if you sense one coming on or if you have one, taking it daily can do a lot of damage to your kidneys and cause you all kind of problems! Now I only take 1000mg if I sense one and it doesn’t show, I know they really suck but don’t use them too much!

L lysine (500mg/day) has helped me immensely with symptoms of anxiety and ptsd. It has helped me feel more upbeat and outgoing and social and has also given me more of a sense of physical well being.

As preventive to cold sores. Controling lysine and arginine rich food intake also helps. To prevent cold sore outbreaks arginine should never be consumed in excess to lysine. Cutting seeds, nuts, chocolate, etc. also helps because they have a lot of arginine. So l-lysine suplement helps to balance daily intake. 1000 mg is the correct daily dose for most people according to body weight. More than 1000 mg daily should be taken only if necessary and for little time.

Started taking 4000mg per day a month ago and have had increased abdomenal pain since. Just got lab work done which indicates mild intestinal bleeding. And I got a cold sore last week! Be careful with L-Lysine

Don't think it made any difference at all for the HSV, but for topical infections/acne, it has been extremely helpful. Chronic acne and infection from diabetes weakened immune system, and now it's more like a few normal pimples instead of big throbbing painful oozing things and having them all over all the time.

I’m a 25 year old woman who regrets not taking Lysine sooner! It’s a miracle supplement. I used to get cold sores every 6 weeks it seemed like.... I started taking one Lysine pill a day and I haven’t had a cold sore in over a year!! I highly recommend Lysine. I’m so much more confident.

I believe this helps for depression. I have been taking this supplement for at least 20 years and have noticed mood elevation when I do take 4-5 thousand milligrams a day. I used to cry more when I didnt take it but now that I have aged more I notice more anger and frustration when I dont take it. Its a much more balanced quality of life for me when I take this supplement.

Been taking for over 2 years and no cold sores. I take one a day as a preventative. This is my wonder drug as nothing else worked including a prescription drug.

I take these tablets at the first sign of pain or other evidence that a cold sore may be forming. If taken prior to the formation of the sore, L-Lysine prevents the formation of a sore. If taken after a sore has formed it makes the sore heal more quickly.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but I haven't had a cold sore outbreak in years since I started taking lysine on a daily basis. The couple of times I felt like I might be getting one, I increased my dosage and the feeling went away.

Works every time I have feeling of cold sore coming on. Take 1000 units and it works like a charm. Never get one. Also don't eat nuts.
