I have been diagnosed with microscopic colitis and was advised by a friend who suffers numerous ailments to try the carob powder. After just a few days of taking it as a beverage before every meal, I can honestly say it has worked amazingly well. After 3+ months of runny stools, it has regulated my system to where I can even add a few 'naughties' to my diet and not have to ensure I know where a ...

Yes I did have loose stools each time I ate the carob. But it was alot better than chocolate.

I have a bean allergy. Didn't realize this was another name for locust bean. It would've been nice to know before the stomach cramps began from the allergic reaction.

I have had Ulcerative Colitis for 10 years. I know that carob can be used for Diarrhea caused by a virus and have had good results using it for that. I had a flare up and nothing was helping. I tried fish oil and probiotics (both that I have had various degrees of success with in the past). Finally in desperation, tired of getting sick every time I ate, I just ate a spoonful of carob powder each time I had to run to the bathroom. It cleared up within a few hours. Now I can take carob any time it looks like I will have trouble and it nips it right in the bud! I haven't tried taking it regularly, but I will try it now. Read More Read Less

After 3+ months of runny stools, it has regulated my system to where I can even add a few 'naughties' to my diet and not have to ensure I know where a toilet is when venturing away from home. It does tend to work best when I add about half a teaspoon of honey. This makes sense as honey is an antibacterial natural product. It is still very early days for me but I do not leave home without a packet in my bag!Read More Read Less
