I used to have chronic UTIs for years and when they hit, they hit fast and strong. They're always related to sex, and unavoidable for me. Too many courses of antibiotics is just not healthy. These days, when I feel one coming on, I drink tea with uva ursi or take capsules a few times a day for several days. I recently took this for a recurring UTI problem associated with sex. The UTI was initially treated with antibiotics and this was suggested as a maintenance measure to take for a few days each month for the following 3 months to eliminate totally any remaining biofilm of bacteria lurking in the urinary track. I noticed that after taking this (Cistexx) that I had a bit of a-fib. I also recently had bedtime tisana which contained uva ursina. The one time I drank the tisana I had a terrible a-fib event with heart rate fluctuations from 42-180 bpm. I took a beta blocker (previously prescribed in case of an a-fib event) to try to calm my heart, and thankfully it worked so I didn’t have to go to the hospital for a cardioversion. So my question is, how does this uva ursina affect the heart, especially one with a history of a-fib?Read More Read Less

I used one dropperful in water twice a day for one week. Also drank a half cup of unsweetened cranberry juice same time of day and avoided coffee first few days, per Christine Northrup M.D.'s instruction

Use to prevent UTIs, recommended by my urologist. Was hesitant to use every day, so most often I use 2-3x week, as preventative. Also have IC (Interstitial Cystitis), so Uva Ursi works well to reduce inflammation for me during a flare. Use after diarreah too. Can be diuretic, so drink water, which is same good practice for UTI and antibiotic. Use Swanson brand.

After experiencing a very bad reaction to an antibiotic given to me for a UTI, I researched to find a better, more natural treatment. I found Uva Ursi and it is now the only thing I use if I get a UTI. It works quickly and efficiently. I usually take it for 1 week to be certain the infection is gone completely. So much better than antibiotics and all of their side effects!

Works extremely well.I'm prone to bladder infections due to kidney stones. I did extensive research on the product. In Germany they used this before penicillin was available. You should not use it more than 5 times in a year because it could cause damage to your kidneys. It is also a potent pain killer. I never use it longer than a week at a time.(3x's a day)Highly recommended.

I was having UTIs for the past year with no real relief from my doctor. I decided to give UVA URSI a try. I bought the liquid form and took it 3x's a day for 4 days and I drank a lot of water while taking it also. I have not had another UTI for the past 3 years.

I used to suffer from recurring UTI's which were always treated with antibiotics, which seemed to work for the moment but then I'd get another UTI a few months later. I found Uva Ursi 2 years ago and it completely knocked my UTI out and I'd been clear of it up until 2 days ago. I had a horrible UTI, I was literally in tears and considering going to the ER in the middle of the night. Luckily, I took some Uva Ursi (and azo the first night, it was bad!) and by the next day my UTI was about 85% better. I haven't taken the azo since the first day, so I know that now I have no pain thanks to the uva ursi and 2 days in to the treatment my UTI is 100% gone. I'm going to continue for a full 5 days to be safe, but I can't say enough good things about this herb. If you're looking for a natural remedy or are wanting to save $ instead of going to the dr for a UTI definitely give Uva Ursi a try. It's potent though, so be careful! Only use it for treatment, up to 2 weeks max (but 1 week should definitely do the trick) and no more than 5 times in one year. Read More Read Less

I started taking it to help with kidney stones. After research I discovered you're only supposed to take it for max 5 days at a time I'd been taking it 2x a day for about a month and a half! I think it helped with the kidney stones but I also feel that my body was telling me you've had enough of it. I'm still going to see a doctor because I believe there are other/still issues with my kidneys. I'm also curious as to whether or not the uva ursi did any good or if it caused damage from taking it so long. Will let you know what I find out. Read More Read Less

I've tried all the over the counter products as well as cranberry pills and cranberry juice to ease my bladder and urinary track irritation with short term success. I've been taking Uva Ursi daily for about three months and have had far fewer flare ups. I recommend it highly!

My son requires catheterizing 4-6 times a day,so UTIs are a constant worry. We are now able to completely avoid antibiotics by using Uva Ursi instead. Note, you should use this as a treatment, not a preventative, as using it longer than 5 days straight can impact the liver. As a daily preventative, D-Mannose is great. I'm so happy we're off the cycle of antibiotics! I now want to explore Uva Ursi as a treatment for C-Diff for my mom...

I've had four UTIs this year and it's only April! I'm uncomfortable taking antibiotics so often, so when looking into natural remedies I found Uva Ursi. I'm on day 2 of the capsules and I already feel a million times better. I'm going to continue taking it for another couple of days. Not sure if this is temporary relief or if it actually cured the infection!
