I was introduced to chaparral in late July of 2013 and before making the order I researched the herb. I had a reoccurrence of a terrible scalp itch ( middle of the back of my hair) which caused my hair to break from tips to root. In 2001, I developed the same problem and consulted with a dermatologist about it. The dermatologist diagnosed it as scalp fungus, gave me a series of cortisone injection...

I have used Chaparral for Maligna Melanoma: 3 teaspoons of powder per day for 2 month and the 2 teaspoons of dry leaves for 6 month. I never had any problems with my liver so I don't think chaparral affects the liver. I also took sporadically dandelion root powder and juice with root and leaves. Whenever I feel a cold may try me, I take 3 teaspoons of chaparral powder per day and the cold goes away without any medication, although I get a cold once in 5 years.

The dermatologist diagnosed it as scalp fungus, gave me a series of cortisone injections every 2 weeks for months, prescribed me nizoral 2% shampoo to use 3 times a week and suggested that I stop relaxing my hair. I only relaxed my hair 2x a year and continued to do so with great success with the doctors treatment. He is currently still my dermatologist who I love dearly but having to return for the same treatment for the problem I decided to go natural with the help from an online friend who recommended the use of chaparral and rosemary leaf rinse while on the phone with me. I applied directly to my scalp 2x for 10 days and on the first application the shedding and the itching stop within less than 24 hours. I continue to use it once a week to my scalp as a leave in scalp treatment and hair hair is full, thick, shiny and naturally beautiful since August 2013 - February 2014. My hair has grown drastically in the troubled, broken and thinning problem spot and all over. I read all the warnings but the warnings are in reference to ingesting the chaparral not applying topically. I constantly search the web for any further warning but nothing on topical usage. I use the same rinse for my sons eczema, I apply with a cotton ball to problem spots, we allow to dry on skin and then we apply the moisturizer. Wonderful! Read More Read Less

As an adolescent I had a cystic type of pimple problem..my mother gave me a bottle of chaparral with one pill a day...approximately 3 months and no more pimple problem. I advised a babysitter of my children when she had a problem to try it and it worked the same for her. She was amazed because she had already tried everything.
