Used for post surgery to avoid constipation or hard stool (inguinal hernia repair). It worked wonderfully, doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Took 2 doses a day, one after breakfast, and one after my evening meal. Made sure my timing didn't interfere with the timing of my daily medications.

After one dosage of a tablespoon of Metamucil, I experience severe cramping and diherrea. It has been several days and the cramping is still happening.

take 2 heaping tablespoons before breakfast and dinner . Only take Psyllium husk powder without sugar or any other additive . Cholesterol is under control without statins and their side effects . A bonus is no extra time spent in the bathroom as movements are quick and painless.

I am happy with the blood glucose reductions I have had as a "side effect" of this treatment. Beware hypoglycemia is a real risk, monitor your sugars when starting psyllium.

My mother took this after a year of tests, various treatments and pain suffering from IBS. I read that research in Sweden showed this helped relieve IBS symptoms in around 90% of cases. I also take for general health purposes on an ongoing basis as it's a brilliant source of dietary fibre

After taking this product for 2 days, one capsule a day, I developed crico-pharyngeal spasms. This is a terrible experience. Has anyne else experienced this side effect?

I have had IBS symptoms for many years more with constipation than with diahrea. In the past six mo., due to increased stress from unemployment and possible flu symptoms, my symptoms worsened to the point of non-control without taking anti-diahreal gel caps almost everyday. My friend who is a nurse informed me that this is just covering up the problem and that in fact my problem could become much worse and lead to more serious conditions. I decided to follow my Drs. advice even though I thought I couldn't and didn't want to at first. By taking the new psyllium products which don't thicken as fast, I am able to get down at least 6-8 oz. and my bowel function has been almost normal, after just a week of following this regimen. No more bloating, gas and uncontrolled diahreah. It's really worth it! It's easier to take now and the alternative is much worse to live with. GoferRead More Read Less
