Menopause Health Overview

Menopause affects every woman. Premature menopause symptoms (or early menopause symptoms) may include irregular periods or hot flashes. Other signs of menopause include night sweats, sleep difficulties, and irritability. Menopause treatments may include hormone replacement therapy, although this is not for every woman. Herbal remedies for menopause may include soy foods and natural supplements. If you have bleeding after menopause, call your doctor as it may indicate a more serious problem.

Understanding Menopause - Symptoms

What Are the Symptoms?

Not all women experience symptoms with the onset of menopause. If menopausal symptoms occur, they may include hot flashes, night sweats, pain during intercourse, increased anxiety or irritability, and the need to urinate more often.

Call Your Doctor If:

  • You experience bleeding again after menopause. Among other possibilities, bleeding may be a sign of uterine cancer, so you should see your doctor.
  • Your symptoms are causing problems or interfering with your daily life. Your doctor may be able to prescribe medications to help relieve your symptoms.
