Your Doctor Appointment Tracker Checklist

Medically Reviewed by Jabeen Begum, MD on November 03, 2021

It’s easy to get distracted and overlook the details in life, like the exact time of your next doctor appointment. You need, then, to find a way of tracking appointments that works best for you.

The first question to ask yourself when deciding how to track your appointments is whether an app is right for you, or is a low-tech method the better option? For an app, you need to use a phone or tablet daily. You can also use a calendar or journal specifically designed for tracking appointments. A combination of the two approaches (app and low-tech) may be what’s best for you.

If you decide to use an app, you’ll have a lot of options to choose from. Here’s a checklist of questions to help you pick one:

  • Are you willing to pay, or do you want a free app?
  • Is the app available on your device?
  • Does the app let you share information, like appointment times, with others?
  • Does the app let you customize your appointments so you can easily tell your different doctors apart?
  • What other features does the app have that could be useful to you?
